Wildcats soccer starts season with a bang

The Madill Wildcats started off the soccer season with a bang by conquering a few of their biggest rivals, setting their sights on an undefeated season.OnMarch7,theWildcats faced the Durant Lions.

Senior Dilan Ortiz scored in the first quarter against the Lions setting up for a Wildcat win at the Blake Smiley Stadium on Tuesday night. The Lions only scored one goal against Madill with a very aggressive offense.

The Wildcats showcased great defense throughout the game and goalkeeper Miguel Fajardohadseveralstunning saves, keeping the score tied until the end where they battled it out with penalty kicks. Madill scored each goal while Durant missed one. Rodrigo Villegas, Uziel Flores, Angel Ibarra, Sergio Hernandez, and Jose Garcia secured the 6 to 5 win in penalty kicks with a 1 all score in regulation play.

Madill v Ardmore

The Wildcats took total control of the game against theArdmoreTigersonMarch 9 at the Nobel Stadium. Terrance Sage and Misael Trevinoscoredtwogoalseach for the Wildcats.

Flores racked on another point for the ‘Cats. Rey Gomez scored a stunning longrange goal in the first half of the game.

Fans cheered as the team ended the first half of the game with a five-point lead against their longtime rivals. Many of these boys have played together since the little leagues, so their team chemistry is off the charts and have near telepathic communication. They took fulladvantageofthistospend some time showing off some tricks throughout the game to keep the fans’ eyes glued to the field.

The team’s saves are often just as impressive as their goals. They did not give the Tigers even a shot at scoring. Midway through the second half, Adrian Gomez kicked in a goal.
