On November 5, 2020, the Wildcats (3-7) traveled to Little Axe to play the Indians (0-9) for the last game of the season. Even though the team opted out of the playoffs, Madill Coach Chad Speer said he was happy with how the season ended.

“It’s nice to win the last game, especially for the seniors,” Speer said. “Disappointed we didn’t win more games but I think we improved.”

Madill got the game going by taking the lead in the first quarter 13 to 0. Junior Kendall Robertson made both touchdowns. Robertson threw for 259 yards, rushed for 98 yards and had four touchdowns in the game.

The second quarter, the Wildcats were unstoppable. Kendall found Sophomores Holden McGahey for two touchdowns and RJ Morris for a touchdown. The Wildcats defense allowed the Indians to score late in the quarter.

Madill led 34 to 6 at half-time. Speer said the penalties were aggravating, but the team played well.

“We did some good things on both sides of the ball. Really pleased with the effort,” said Speer. “Definitely not happy about the penalties. Our kids have to be able to control themselves.”

The second half of the game, Madill would allow the Indians to score one more time. Meanwhile, the Wildcats would continue to be unstoppable. Kendall would find Sophomore Stephen Sisco, who had seven catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Mason Coles would also have a touchdown. “We had to overcome some adversity this week with Covid events, but really all year. I’m glad the kids responded,” said Speer.

Madill will prepare for the offseason. “Once we are able to get back in school we will start our offseason,” Speer said. “We will have spring ball sometime in May. Hopefully tonight will help us have an urgency during the off season.”
