Wildcats 2nd, Barbosa 3rd in Madill Cat Run

Madill’sboyscrosscountry team took second as a team in the Annual Madill Cat Run with senior Yadira Barbosa claiming third individually in the girls division last Saturday.

The Wildcats were second only behind meet champ Sulphur on the 5,000-meter boys course keyed by four Top 20 individual placings.

Senior Ryder Douglas led the charge with a 14th place in 18 minutes, 9.65 seconds. Jayden Barbosa checked in 15th in 18:23.52, Jose Campos clocked an 18:38.43 for 19th and Alex Orta was 20th at 18:48.27.

Aroddy Camacho took 32nd with a time of 19:55.63, Yadel Sanchez was 38th in 20:17.13, Canyon Phillips ended 43rd at 20:27.67 and Blane Hawthorne wrapped up in 50th place by posting a 20:42.63.

Other Wildcat runners and placers included Gael Gallegos, 55th (21:25.03); Saul Martinez, 59th (21:34.35); Vincent Acquaviva, 71st (22:27.45); Ronny Rivera, 75th (23:01.20); Dayton Gimenez, 80th (23:17.46); Azaeel Rivera, 83rd(23:45.99);EthanMartinez, 90th (25:18.80); Enrique Martinez, 92nd (25:25.38); Juan Padronrodriguez, 93rd (25:26.04); Juan Narvaez, 94th (25:29.17); Xavier Quintanilla, 96th (26:28.80); Isaac Quiroz, 105th (30:38.01).

For the Lady Wildcats, Barbosa cruised through the 3,200-meter course in a time of 12 minutes, 46.87 seconds for third place.

They added a 21st place showing for Caylee Martinez in 14:15.70, while Jayleen Vasquez checked in 33rd at 14:56.56, Katelyn Acquaviva was 35th with a time of 15:02.28andJaylahCabrales placed 38th in 15:15.40.

Other Lady Wildcats were Samantha Ortiz, 43rd (15:49.84); Hadon Stuckey, 53rd (16:26.52); Klarivel Aldava, 59th (17:17.22); and Aranza Salinas, 66th (18:25.21).
