Wildcat wrestlers wrangle pair of wins

The Madill Wrestling team attended two duals on January 16. After both events, the Wildcats left with a few wins under their belts.

The Madill Wildcats won the first dual 39 to 33 over the Pauls Valley Panthers.

Two Madill wrestlers won the opening rounds. Chris Bennett from the

Chris Bennett from the 106-weight class and Elijah Conelly from the 113-weight class both won due to a forfeit.

Wylbie Roberts decisioned Celson Barahona 8 to 3 in the 120-weight class. Grant Marcum-Jones of

Grant Marcum-Jones of Pauls Valley pinned Stevie Love in the 126-weight class. The 132-weight class was a double forfeit. Jeovannie Barahona from

Jeovannie Barahona from Pauls Valley pinned Kaleb Sweeny in the 138-weight class.

In the 145-weight class, Brayden Patchell from Pauls Valley decisioned Jacob Massey 18-16.

Mike Barahona from Pauls Valley pinned Tito Martinez in the 152-weight class.

Honory Copeland from Pauls Valley pinned Edwin Recio in the 160-weight class. Zane Wieliman from Pauls Valley won the 170-weight class with a forfeit.

Cade Barker, from the 182-weight class also won via forfeit.

In the 195-weight class, Madill’s John Venable pinned Mike Peddigrew.

The Wildcats followed that with two more wins as Coty Tweedy pinned Blake Robbins in the 220-weight class, and Griffon Williams pinned James Cudjo in the 285-weight class.

Wildcats top Chicks

The wins kept coming for the Wildcats in their second dual of the night. This time it was the Chickasha Chicks who felt the burn in a 60-12 Wildcat victory.

Madill’s Chris Benett from the 106-weight class won via forfeit, and Elijah Conelly from the 113-weight class also won via forfeit.

Gavin Moxley from Chickasha pinned Stevie Love in the 126-weight class. The 132-weight class was a double forfeit. Kaleb Swinney from the 138-weight class pinned TJ Garrett. Jacob Massey from the 145-weight class won via forfeit, as well as Tito Martinez from the 152-weight class. Cash Muncrief of Chickasha pinned Edwin Recio from the 160-weight class. The 170-weight class was a double forfeit, and John Venables from the 182-weight class won via forfeit. Adan Yanez pinned Nate Timmons in the 195-weight class. In the 220-weight class, Coty Tweedy pinned Derek Alexander. Griffon Williams from the 285-weight class won via forfeit.
