Three local wrestlers battling in Tulsa Region

Three of Southern Oklahoma’s finest youth wrestlers showed up and out at the Catoosa Freestyle & Greco Tournament at Catoosa High School. Jace Davis of Ada and the Arbuckle brothers - Billy and Joey of Dickson represented WarHammer Wrestling with distinction.

Davis took silver in Greco Roman and Bronze in Freestyle in the Junior 150-lb bracket, a completely new weight bracket for him. During Folkstyle season, Davis wrestles for the Ada Cougars at 126 lbs.

Likewise, the Arbuckle brothers netted two medals a piece making the total haul six medals for three wrestlers. The younger Arbuckle, Billy, scored a bronzeinbothGrecoRoman and Freestyle in the 14U 100-lb bracket.

The elder Arbuckle, Joey, truly turned up the volume onhisperformances.He,too, achieved major milestones for himself snagging silver in Freestyle and Bronze in Greco Roman in the 16U 132-lb bracket. Greco Roman was a first for both Billy and Joey. Both brothers wrestle for the Dickson Comets during Folkstyle.

All three wrestlers are in their 1st year with WarHammer, and they are preparing for their qualifiers to the USMC Junior Nationals in Fargo, ND. Coach Peter Hammer sang the boys’ praises.

“I am beyond proud of and excited for Jace, Billy, and Joey,” Hammer shared. “All of them had major breakthroughs and ‘firsts’. It’s fun to see how their individual styles are evolving. These three are motivated to maintain their discipline and consistency.”
