Dahlia Marris hit her first high school homerun during the September 16, 2021 game. She said it was a feeling like not other.
“It felt really good, especially when I was coming around the bases and I saw my team jumping and cheering for me.”
Dahlia said she is pretty sure the pitch she connected with was one she has been having trouble with in the past.
“I’m pretty sure it was an inside pitch,” she said. “I haven’t been doing really good with those this season, but I was out in front of it this time and I finally got it.”
She left some nuggets of information for any young athletes wanting to become softball players.
“It takes motivation and hard work.”
