Following a pair of tough district losses earlier in the week to Plainview, Madill’s fast pitch softball team rebounded by sweeping a pair of contests from Marietta and Ardmore to close out last week’s action.
The Lady Wildcats were 4-3 victors over Marietta in a squeaker and then blasted Ardmore while posting a season-high offensive total in a 12-0 win.
Against Marietta, Madill plated a pair of runs in both the first and second innings and capitalized on just one hit – a single from Luci Douglass. Laila Pickens and Jade Soto each posted an RBI That proved to be enough however for pitcher Dahlia Marris, who allowed three runs (two earned) and scattered six hits over five innings. She also struck out five in the process.
Offense was much more in quantity early and often in the Ardmore outing, which saw the Lady Wildcats erupt for eight runs and never look back.
Soto, Brooklyn Washington, La Taylor, Chloe Miller, Douglass and Karma Williams all had consecutive singles in the early uprising with Soto, Taylor, Douglass and Williams all driving in a run.
Madill capped off the scoring with four runs in the second frame by taking advantage of three free passes, two Lady Tiger errors and a Marris hit.
Marris also recorded the win in the pitching circle, twirling three no-hit innings that included three strikeouts and a walk.
