Madill runners capture 4th at East Central

Madill girls and boys cross country team each posted fourth place team finishes in the rugged East Central Invitational last weekend.

The Lady Wildcats tallied 138 points in finishing only behind Byng, Bridge Creek and Plainview in the girls’ team standings. On the boys’ side, Madill posted 116 team points which was only behind Byng, Bridge Creek and Dickson.

Yadira Barbosa was the Lady Wildcat catalyst once more, capturing fifth in the individual race with a time of 13 minutes, 19.51 seconds.

Caylee Martinez posted a mark of 15:07.26 for 33rd, Jeylah Cabrales took 37th in 15:23.99, Jayleen Vasquez was 47th at 15:48.10 with Katelyn Acquaviva contributing a 48th place time of 15:49.13. Adding to the Madill girls was Hadon Stuckey with 60th at 16:36.65, Samantha Ortiz taking 62nd in 16:45.01, Klarivel Aldava 86th at 18:19.64 and Aranza Salinas 92nd in clocking in at 19:00.45.

The Wildcats had a host of runners all placing fairly close to each with three in the Top 20 individuals.

Jose Campos led the charge in 17th with a time of 18 minutes, 16.68 seconds while Jayden Barbosa posted in 19th at 18:32.26 and Ryder Douglas crossed in 20th in 18:45.65.

AlexOrtanarrowlymissed the Top 20 in 25th place with a 19:13.01 time while Blane Hawthorne was the fifth MHS placer in 36th at 19:47.46. Yadel Sanchez clocked in 40th in 20:13.47, Gael Gallegos was 44th at 20:18.18, Aroddy Camacho ended 45th in 20:23.66, Canyon Phillips took 52nd with a mark of 20:38.26, Saul Martinez notched a 21:02.80 for65thwhileVincentAcquaviva checked in 97th in crossing the stripe in 22:33.78.
