Madill basketball season comes to an end

Madill traveled to Tuttle to beginRegionals. The Wildcats played first against the Chickasha Fightin' Chicks losing the game by three points, 41 to 38. Head coach Brett W eiberg said even though the boys lost, they played hard.

"Our boys played hard, and we did some really good things," said Weiberg.

The Wildcats trailed the Fightin' Chicks at halftime, 28 to 33. Senior Ezekiel Fuentes led Madill in scoring with 20 total points; senior Nick Northcutt had eight total points; senior Kendall Robertson had four total points. Weiberg boasted about how well the boys played and how proud of them he was.

"I thought Ezekiel and Nick played really well. I am proud of what our seniors have accomplished this year and through their career, said Weiberg. "They are great kids, and I was fortunate to be able to coach them. I am grateful for what they have given to me and our program. It is always hard to end the season, and this is particularly difficult because it was so much fun coaching this basketball team."

The Lady Wildcats played next against the Tuttle Lady Tigers, losing the game 22 to 77. Head coach Shawn Runyan said the girls were outnumbered from the beginning.

"Tuttle is a real big team and a real good team," Runyan. "Tuttle is not number onefornothing. We were over matched from the get-go. My girls played hard!"

SeniorJayden Weibergled Madill with 15 total points; sophomore Haylee Elkins had three total points; and senior Bray lee Schneider and sophomore Hannah Elkins had two total points each.

The Madill Lady Wildcats ended their season with a loss of 65 to 49 toN orth Rock Creek Lady Cougars. Madill trailed at halftime, 40 to 36. Runyan said mistakes with rebounds was the straw that broke the camel's back.

"We gave up too many offensive rebounds," Runyan said. "That really hurt us."

SeniorJayden Weibergled the team with 20 total points; senior Bray lee Schneider had eight total points; junior Aubrie Cantrell and sophomores Kenzie Mathis and Haylee Elkins each had five points. Runyan said that no matter what, he is proud ofhow hard the girls played.

"The girls played hard and never quit which has kind of been our M.O. all season ," said Runyan. "They may get down, but they never quit."
