Madill’s slow pitch softball team was able to avoid the rain long enough last week to split a pair of contests with Thackerville and Plainview.
TheLadyWildcatsromped to a 17-2 triumph facing Thackerville with a 15-7 loss to Plainview.
After yielding a first inning run to Thackerville in the top of the opening frame, Madill wasted no time in exploding for 11 runs in the bottom of the stanza while taking complete command. The Lady Wildcats powered out eight hits as they sent 15 batters to the plate.
Dahlia Marris had a double, Laila Pickens tripled and Brooklynn Washington contributed a pair of singles after batting twice in the frame.
Another six hits in the third inning along with two Thackerville errors helped push across six more runs.
Pickens racked up three hits to pace the 12-hit Madill onslaught. Washington, Ireland Groeber and Emily Arnold all pitched in a pair of hits with one apiece from Marris, Joshlynn Clayburn and Chloe Miller.
Madill tallied another 10 hits in the Plainview outing but six defensive errors helped lead to 10 early runs by the Lady Indians that proved to be too much to overcome.
Jade Soto finished with two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs while Marris also had a homer as part of her two hits and two RBI. Clayburn and Miller tacked on two hits apiece as Pickens and Arnold notched one apiece.
