A 18-2 thumping of Ardmore was Madill’s lone win in four district softball outings last week.
The Lady Wildcats were on the short end of a 14-4 loss to Sulphur and dropped a twinbill to Pauls Valley, falling 12-2 and 11-5.
Ardmore led 1-0 in the Madill victory before the Lady Wildcats erupted with eight tallies in the second and 10 more in the third to end it early on the run rule.
Zeplin Thomas notched a bunt single and Laila Pickens a triple for the only MHS hits in the second frame. Pickens, Layne Albright, Emersyn Thomas and Chloe Miller contributed singles in the next inning with Thomas adding a double.
Albright pitched three innings for the victory in the run rule, yielding a pair of runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
Madill fell behind 8-0 in the Sulphur defeat. Miller and Pickens tossed in singles to fuel a two-run fourth frame while a Pickens single and two Bulldog errors led to a pair of runs in the sixth.
The Lady Wildcats were down 9-1 through two frames of the Pauls Valley first outing as five defensive errors proved costly.
Coach Shawn Runyan’s group plated one run after Brooklyn Pruitt doubled and came around on a Pickens hit. Karma Williams belted a run-scoring double in the third stanza as part of her two hits.
Madill snagged the initial lead in the Pauls Valley nightcap, pushing across a run in the first following a Pruitt single and Miller sacrifice coupled with a Panther error.
