AgainstComanche,Kingston raced to an early lead and held off the Lady Indians the rest of the way to finish off the league campaign with an 8-2 mark.
Kingston plated four runs in the opening stanza sparked by a Kenadea Elkins run-scoring double along with RBI hits from Audrey Hughes and Khloe Hall.
Minor’s club got an insurance tally just for good measure in the fifth inning, fueled by hits from Hall and Bailey Reagan before a two-out, RBI single by Kate Ratzlaff.
That was plenty of run support for Hall, who worked all seven innings in the pitching circle, striking out 10 Comanche batters while also allowing one unearned run on three hits.
Ratzlaff, Elkins and Hall each tallied two hits for Kingston with Hughes, Reagan and Ayli Minor adding one apiece.
The Lady Redskins came up short on Thursday in a 6-3 loss to small school power Turner despite once again breaking out of the gates hot with a three-run opening frame.
Turner narrowed the gap with a run in the second and then cashed in Kingston errors for five unearned tallies in the fifth for the victory.
Kingston finished with a 5-4 edge in hits as Ratzlaff, Minor, Hughes, Emma Bridgeman and Kenley Hallum each had a single.
A 3-1 victory against Wilson closed the week in what proved to be a scoreless pitching duel through five frames.
The Lady Redskins finally broke through and took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth. Elkins reached on an error, Ava Bain singled andMinorplatedthefirstrun with a sacrifice fly. Hall’s twoout, two RBI double provided the final runs.
Hallum fired five frames of stellar relief to garner the pitching win as she yielded only two hits and fanned a pair. She also notched two of the team’s five hits in the contest.
