Lady Redskins win Durant Track Meet title

Kingston’s girls track and field team ran away from the pack to claim the Durant Meet championships last week as the Lady Redskins notched eight gold medal performances.

The Redskin boys notched afourthintheteamstandings with both squads slated to take part in the Lake Country Conference Meet this weekend in Madill.

Three relay titles posted huge points for the Kingston girls as they won the 400 meters, 1600 meters and 3200 meters.

The 400 unit included Cassidy Walker, Kate Ratzlaff, Kenley Hallum and Coby Davis as they crossed the stripe in 49.67 seconds. The same four posted a winning time of 4:10.13 in the 1600 with Addie Cole, Avery Ludrick, Daisy Avery and Ratzlaff taking the 3200 crown at 10:26.54.

Davis won the 200 meters in 26.38 seconds, Ratzlaff claimed the 300 hurdles at 47.92, Natalie Howell took the 100 hurdles title in 18.43, Averywonthe3200metersat 12:18.45 and Gracie Donnell also had the top mark in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches.

The Lady Redskins also had Davis placing second in the 100 meters in 12.54 seconds, Cole took third in the 800 at 2:33.63, Layla Thompson checked in fifth in the 3200 in 13:54.47 and Avery ended fourth in the 1600 at 5:40.03 with Cole finishing sixth in 5:56.95.

Kingston’s 800 relay pairing of Walker, Vivian Cobbs, Ludrick and Hallum checked in fourth at 1:50.62. In the field events, the Lady Redskins were led by Cobbs with a second in the long jump at 15 feet, 5 inches as Blake Hackney took sixth in 13 feet, 10 inches. Carli Lilley notched a third place heave of 30 feet, 7 inches in the shot put with teammate Joshlynn O’Steen sixth at 29 feet, 2 inches. Ella Weaver also contributed a sixth in the discus at 82 feet, 10 inches.

The Redskins had a pair of runner-up relay efforts as the sprint relay team of Koewyn Young, Hudson Everhart, Kelly Gray and Logan Stephens clocked in at 43.66 seconds with the 800 relay grouping of Young, Everhart, Kasen Barker and Stephens also second in 1:31.32. They also finished fifth in the 1600 relay as the group of Stephens, Everhart, Jaden Fraize and Jaquin Manchaca placed fifth in 3:31.63.

Jack Hinsley placed in both hurdle events, finishing fourth in the 110 hurdles at 15.49 seconds and fifth in the 300 hurdles in 41.16. Young tossed in a fifth in the 100 metersin11.30secondswhile Manchaca ended third in the 400 at 54.21 with teammate Christian Davis clocking in 54.60 for sixth.

Field event placers were topped by Dominic Sokolnicki’s third place toss of 124 feet even in the discus while fellow Redskin Trace Pruitt took fifth at 114 feet, 10 inches. Cody Gravitt added a fifth in the shot put at 38 feet, 11 inches with Barker taking fifth in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 11 inches.
