On Tuesday, September 13, the Kingston Lady Redskins celebrated their four senior team mates with a big 19 to one win over the Marietta Lady Indians.
For their last home game, seniorsOliviaQuapaw,Lanie French, Kaylin Dougherty and Brookelyn Madrigues were honored. Quapaw is the center fielder and the daughterofJenniferQuapaw. French plays short stop and is the daughter of Trevor and Christie French.
Dougherty is the third baseman and the daughter of Chad and Holly Dougherty. The Redskin’s catcher, is Mandrigues,sheisthedaughter of Bobby and Whitney Mandrigues.
The Lady Redskins secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the fourth inning. Batters contributing to the big inning included, A.J. Stepp, Jacklyn Merritt, French, Quapaw, Dougherty and Amberly Hallum, who all drove runs in.
Pitcher,SydneyNavarrett, earned the win in the circle. Allowingjustonerunonthree hits and striking out three.
On Thursday, the Lady Redskinsplayedtwogamesin theComanchehostedfestival. Goingone-and-oneontheday.
The Redskins took a close loss to the Plainview Lady Indians, 4 to 5, and got the win against the Marlow Lady Outlaws, 4 to 1.
The Lady Redskins fell to Plainview 5 to 4 on the final play of the game. The Lady Indians trailed 4 to 3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Emily Cheek doubled on a one-two count, scoring two runs.
Taloa Lewis took the loss for Kingston, allowing four runs on ten hits and striking out one. Jaya Foster, Navarrett, Stepp, French, Lewis and Quapaw each collected a hit for the Lady Redskins Navarrettwasthewinning pitcher against Marlow. Allowing six hits and only one runwhilestrikingoutoneand walking zero. The Lady Redskins are currently ranked third in District 3A-2 and are currently awaiting regional assignments. Regional play begins September 29.
