Lady Redskins bow out in 3A super regional

A road challenge against the fourth seeded team in Class 3A proved to be too much for the Kingston Lady Redskins as their fast pitch softball season ended with a pair of super regional losses last week.

The Lady Redskins dropped consecutive 10-1 verdicts at Lindsay, which moved on to this week’s state tournament. Kingston ended the season with a 2116 record.

Lindsay scored the first nine runs of the opener with Kingston finally getting on the scoreboard with a run in the sixth.

Kate Ratzlaff started that frame with a single, stole second and came around to score on a Kenadea Elkins single, but that proved all the visitors could string together. Ratzlaff finished with two of the team’s three hits in the contest.

Game two saw the Kingston offense get rolling earlier despite spotting the Leopardettes the game’s first seven runs.

TheLadyRedskinsloaded the bases in the third with back-to-back singles from Ratzlaff and Alyssa Langford to begin the frame and Elkins followed by reaching on a fielder’s choice. After two quick outs, Ava Bain got the lone Kingston run home by drawing a walk for the RBI.

Ratzlaff,Langford,Elkins, Bain, Bailey Reagan and Emma Bridgeman all tallied hits with only one of Lindsay’s runs being earned that in part to six Lady Redskin errors.
