Kingston sophomore hits grand slam at nationals

A Kingston High School sophomore, along with her team, made history on July 14.

Bri Harkins is a 16-year-old sophomore from Kingston High School. She plays softball, and has participated in the sport since she was five-years-old. Bri is a Kingston Lady Redskin during the school year. When she is not playing for her Alma Mater, she is a pitcher and plays first base for Xtreme 03 from Del City.

The Xtreme participated in the United States Specialty Sports Association National Softball Tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Bri and her teammates brought home the third place trophy for the tournament. The team has an overall record of 20-34-2.

The USSSA is a volunteerbased, sports governing body. It is a non-profit organization that began in Viera, Florida. Originally, the organization’s moniker was United States Slowpitch Softball Association. The name was changed in 1998 to encompass a multitude of various other sports.
