With a home regional already wrapped up, the KingstonLadyRedskinssplit a pair of contests with Madill and Silo last week heading toward the end of the regular season.
Coach Aaron Minor’s squad smashed rival Madill, 12-0, before dropping a 9-0 road decision to perennial power Silo to move their record to 18-13 on the season.
The Lady Redskins will host Crooked Oak and Newkirk in the Class 3A regional that begins on Wednesday at Noon.
Against Madill last week, it was as Kingston as the hosts finished it off in just three innings, pounding out 13 hits along the way.
Kingston plated four in the first innings, three in the second and five in the third stanza. Elkins was the offensive catalyst with a single, double and triple while driving in two and scoring three times.
Kate Ratzlaff, Ava Bain, Ayli Minor and Audrey Hughes all contributed two hits with Minor driving in three and Bain knocking in two. Ratzlaff also scored three times and stole two bases out of the leadoff spot.
The Lady Redskins’ other hits came from Khloe Hall and Emma Bridgeman.
Hall was in control throughout inside the pitching circle, yielding three hits and striking out four while working all three innings on 50 pitches.
Offensewasmuchtougher to come by facing Silo and the Lady Redskins were also hindered by five errors as the Lady Rebels ended it in the fifth inning on the run rule.
Kingston’s lone hit in the game came from Alyssa Langford.
