Kingston, Madill lifters place in regional meet

Both Kingston and Madill had several placers in the powerlifting regional meet last week at Hartshorne with the Redskins taking second as a team in the Class 2A standings.

The Redskins finished only behind Holdenville in their small school division led by a regional titlist in Jaksyn Martin at 123 pounds as he posted a three-lift combination of 980. That included a 375 in squat, 215 on bench and 390 in deadlift.

Kelly Gray was also runner-up in the 168-division by accumulating 1,090 pounds (405 squat, 250 bench, 435 deadlift).

Kingston’s James Trout placed fourth at 198 pounds by posting a total of 1,170 pounds (430 squat, 290 bench, 450 deadlift), Jesse Thomas checked in eighth in the 157 category by notching 895 pounds (315 squat, 215 bench, 365 deadlift) and Kyler Edwards was 10th in the 132 division with 660 pounds (235 squat, 175 bench, 250 deadlift).

A pair of Redskins recorded points at 145 pounds topped by Vinny Robbins in fifth with 985 total pounds (350 squat, 230 bench, 405 deadlift) and Kruz Harjo wrapping up 10th at 835 total pounds (305 squat, 200 bench, 330 deadlift).

For Madill, the top weight division was 145 as they claimed a pair of spots in the large school division Top 5.
