After a week off, the Kingston High School cross country teams returned to action Saturday with the LadyRedskinsplacingfourth as a team in the Class 3A Pre-State Meet in Shawnee.
The Lady Redskins had one individual placer and a host of solid performances to finish only behind Prague, Washington and Oklahoma Christian School in the 3A team standings.
Junior Daisy Avery was the catalyst with a fifth place showing of 13 minutes, 4.56 seconds on the 3,200-meter course. Also helping contribute to the strong team effort were the foursomeofAddieCole,Layla Thompson, Avery Ludrick and Liv McAlester.
Cole checked in 28th in 15:01.88,Thompsonwas29th at 15:03.33, Ludrick ended 30th with a mark of 15:06.27 and McAlester posted a 31st place time of 15:06.38.
Kingston also picked up a 64th place finish from Rylee Davis in 16:43.08 with Kizzie Wood adding a 73rd at 17:04.98.
The Redskin boys’ unit also returned to action and placed ninth in the Pre-State event on the 5,000-meter course.
Cash Wilson led the charge in 22nd place by notchingatimeof19minutes, 56.35 seconds. Evrett Eason chipped in a 30th at 20:17.56, LoganThompsonended33rd clocking in at 20:19.06, Chet Nix took 56th in 21:48.64 and AndrewCantrellwrappedup in 96th crossing the finish line in 28:16.40.
Kingston is slated to compete at Dickson this week.
