Kingston girls ran to a second-place finish in the Lake County Conference Track Meet on Saturday while the boys wrapped up in third.
The Lady Redskins tallied 112 team points, finishing only behind conference champ Plainview in the standings.
Kingston only had two first place winners but a host of high finishers. The event winners were Ava Russell in the 200 meters with a time of 26.22 seconds and Alyssa Langford in the pole vault as she cleared 10 feet, 6 inches.
Kate Ratzlaff posted a pair of runner-up showings in the hurdle events, notching personal best times in each. She clocked in at 16.76 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 46.23 in the 300 hurdles.
DaisyAveryalsonotcheda pair of high finishes, clocking in at 5:57.83 to take fourth in the 1,600 meters as well as 12:24.32 in another fourth place finish in the 3,200 meters.
Cassie McAlister tossed in a sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:07.68 while Addie Cook claimed fourth in the 800 meters at 2:35.70. Cassidy Walker checked in third in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches and was also fifth in the long jump at 15 feet, 7 ¾ inches while placing behind teammate Coby Davis, who was second at 16 feet and ½ inch. Carli Lilley also wrapped up in second place in the shot put with a heave of 30 feet, 7 ½ inches.
The Lady Redskin 800 relay team of Kenley Hallum, Davis, Russell and Olivia McAlister was conference runner-up in 1:47.33 with Davis, Hallum and Russell joined by Ratzlaff in placing second in the 1,600 relay at 4:10.50. The 3,200-relay foursome of Avery Ludrick, McAlister, Avery and Cole was fourth with a time of 10:37.27.
Kingston’s boys tallied 104 overall points to wrap up behind only Plainview and Sulphur in the team standings.
Cash Walker led the charge for the Redskins by winning both hurdle events. In the 110 hurdles he clocked in at 14.96 seconds with teammate Coy Anderson fourth in 16.40. Walker also picked up the 300 hurdles title with a personal best time of 39.41 seconds.
Sam Walker chipped in a first-place medal in the high jump as he cleared the bar at 6 feet, 8 inches.
Ty Jones contributed a fifth-place mark of 11.79 seconds in the 100 meters as well as taking sixth in the 200 meters at 24.68 seconds. Jaden Fraize tossed in a fifth in the 400 meters by crossing the stripe in 54.45, barely in front of Anderton in sixth at 54.46.
Isaac Hahn contributed a second in the shot put at 41 feet, 4 ¾ inches as well as placing fourth in the discus with a toss of 126 feet, 3 inches.
The Redskin 1,600 relay unit of Sam Walker, Hudson Everhart, Logan Stephens and Cash Walker took home that event title with a time of 3:27.20.Thesameunitclocked in at 1:32.20 to place second in the 800 relay.
Kingston’s sprint relay grouping of Tino Rojas, Jones, Anderton and Jake Hofferber endedsecondin44.36seconds.
