Brock Rumer from Kingston High School is KXII’s A+ Athlete of the Week. Rumer has many accolades under his belt. He is a member of the Oklahoma Honors Society, National Honors Society and a permanent member of the honor roll. Along with numerous awards, he won the Presidential Award for Educational excellence.
Kingston English teacher Candesse Minor said Rumer is “the kind of student you want a whole classroom full of.”
“He’s smart, but he’s also always here, he’s on time, he’s always prepared, and he’s extremely respectful,” Minor said in an interview with KXII. “When I’m teaching, or reading, or I’m talking, he’s looking at me, and he’s listening.”
Rumer said academics are important to him. Just like somebody has been there for him when he has questions, he wants to be there for someone else.
Rumer is first team allconference in basketball and wasnamedoffensiveplayerof the year. He has been named to several all-tournament teams. He is an all-district shortstop in baseball and was named defensive player of the year.
His coaches said he is a great kid with great work ethic and is a hard worker.
