Cielo Gomez is a senior soccer player on the girl’s team for Madill High School. Her parents are Ruben and Moraima Gomez. Her siblings consist of Natalia Segura, Chris Gomez, Cruz Gomez, Lucero Gomez, Trinity Gomez, and Ruben Gomez.
Along with playing soccer her entire life, Cielo also plays basketball and has since she was in elementary school. She was also a part of winning the State Runner Up banner and trophy in Cross Country in 2019.
Cielo said playing sports is a big chunk of her memories.
“My favorite memories from high school is all the fun I had with all of my teammates in every sport I have played throughout the four years at Madill High School,” she said.
Cielo said she was thankful for all the friendships she has made with her fellow classmates along with the faculty at Madill High School.
“They have pushed me through my hardest of times,” she said and she feels that she would not be who she is today if it were not for them.
“I would like to thank all of my coaches for pushing me to become the best student athlete I could be,” she continued. “Even if it was yelling at me and my teammates cause we lost or excited because we won. I always took anything they have told me to heart, and I used it as motivation and proceeded to work even harder than before. I will miss all my coaches. Every one of you will hold a special place in my heart, because you were like a mother or father figure to me, and you wanted to see me succeed. For that I am thankful.”
After high school she plans to join the Air Force and travel overseas. She said she wants to do her part.
“I will do anything to protect you and our country.”
