Chris Lipscomb has been a runner since he was 20 years old. Now, at 60 years old, Chris is still running in a race at least every two weeks. During his running career, Chris has participated in the Coloner’s Marathon in 1996 where he placed 50 out of 5,000 runners, the Boston Marathon in 2001 and placed 327th out of 13,000 other runners, the Scottsdale Arizona Marathon in 2003 and one of his personal best time was right here in Madill, Oklahoma at the Reuel Little Classic when he ran the halfmarathon in 1:17.
Chris has also participated in the National Senior Games in 2013 where he placed 5th in the 1500-meter run, in 2015 where he placed 5th in the 5K, in 2017 where he placed 5th in the 10K and 3rd in the 5K. More recently in 2019. Chris participated in the 10K and 5K in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Chris and his wife Jan are longtime residents of Walters which is in South Western Oklahoma. During his time at Walters High School, Chris was the only cross-country runner. Now, in his spare time he can be found talking about running with new and old friends or volunteering and training with the Walters High School Cross Country and tract teams.
