Wanda J. Ward King, 97, passed away peacefully at approximately 12 noon on November 9, 2021, in Focused Care, Hamilton, Texas. She was born April 23, 1924, in Marshall County, Oklahoma and moved to Hico, Texas, three years ago to be near family.

Wanda was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was married to the Rev. Roy L. Ward, Sr., a United Methodist Minister. He passed away in September 1971. She later married Lester King of Madill, Okla., who also preceded her in death.

For many years, she taught in the Madill Okla. school district, teaching kindergarten and third grade.

Wanda is survived by one son and wife, Roy and Mary Ann Ward; stepson Royce King of Madill, Okla.; two grandsons, Miles C. Ward and Theresa of Severn, MD, Grant and Kim Ward of Hamilton, Texas; a step granddaughter, Cherish Ralls and husband Matt of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and four great granddaughters and three step grandchildren, several cousins, nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future in Madill, Okla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Hamilton Hospital Foundation or the Memorial Fund of First United Methodist Church in Madill, Okla.
