Merele V. Goff

Beloved father, Merele V. Goff, son of Callie and Lee Goff, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by all nine of his siblings; Lonnie, Cary, Annie Laura, Mark, Juanita, Paul, Betty Lou, Jack, and Virginia. Merele was born in Old Kingston in 1926. He left to serve in the Army during World War II. While serving in Belgium, he met the love of his life, Mathilda (Tillie). Tillie passed away on June 17, 2012, seven years to the day and hour before Merele. He was the dearly loved father to Connie, Frances, and Leonard; grandfather to Michael, Phillip, Ryan, and Callie and great grandchildren Chris, Izzy, Rosie, Lee, Raleigh, Teddy, and Sienna. After retiring from the army, he became a field service engineer for an aeronautics company, finally ending up in Rancho Cordova, Calif. He was active in his church and the local school’s sports club. He also loved to play cards. He was a strong, but gentle man, loving, humble, intelligent (a math whiz), patient, kind, witty and generous.
