Mary Spain

Mary “Lou” Spain of Bridgeport, Texas (formerly of Kingston OK) was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on May 15, 2021. She was born on September 17, 1929 in Comanche, Okla. to Albert and Hazel Branch.

On October 16, 1963, she married the love of her life Lonnie Spain and together they built a life they loved on Lake Texoma where together they built a home, raised their children and created memories to last a life time.

Lou is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Hazel Branch, her beloved husband Lonnie Spain, her son Jimmy Sites and her daughter, Bonnie Spain.

Lou lived a big life and loved those in her life big - but of all the things she loved in life, nothing compared to the love she had for her family and for “her kids.” Blood or not, if you referred to her as Mom, Meemz, Ma Spain, Memaw or Mrs. Spain, then it was guaranteed that she loved you to the depths of her soul in her own special way. Lou had a passion for children and worked for INCA Head Start for many years. In her lengthy tenure there, she served as a warrior and advocate for the children of Marshall County and doing so was one of her biggest prided accomplishments of her life.

Lou loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherwoman, arrowhead/artifact hunter and had a special gift for cultivating the most beautiful flowerbeds and landscapes. She lived a life filled to the brim with love and adventure and she will be forever sorely missed by all who loved her (and it was a LOT!)

Lou is survived by her children; Richard Sites and wife Jaquita, Sulphur Oklahoma. Rowdy Spain and wife Kelley of Tyler, Texas, Gena Spain Franklin and husband John of Bridgeport, Texas, Lonnette and husband Billie Harrell of Lone Grove, Okla., grandchildren; Meghan Davis and husband Brandon of Ballinger, Texas, Sandy Landers and husband Bobby of Kingston Okla., Renee Sites of Tulsa, Okla., Robin Sledd and husband Jason of Sulpher, Okla., Richie Sites of Sulphur, Okla., Josh Spain and wife Braidi of Tyler, Texas, Jeremiah Spain and wife Taylor, of Yukon Okla., Jacob Spain and wife Madison of Tyler, Texas, Connie and husband Randy Bryant of Lawton, Okla., Cindy and Randy Randolph of Lake Kiowa, Texas, Bill and wife Angie Harrell of Lone Grove, Okla., Craig Harrell, and many numerous great and great great grandchildren.
