Kenneth Leroy Stubbs was born on April 2, 1949 in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was the son of Omer Kennth Stubbs and Loraine (Clampet) Stubbs. Ken passed away in his home in Kingston, Oklahoma on December 11, 2019.

Ken was a 1967 graduate of Newcastle High School in Newcastle, Wyoming. He received a BA in English Literature from Black Hills State College in 1971 and then a teaching certificate in Texas. Before he took a teaching position, he was offered a job with Baroid Mud Company and that started his long career in the oil field.

His job in the oil field was his passion. He worked as a mud engineer for several years and then took a position with Conoco Oil Company as a drilling foreman offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Wanting more, Ken went back to school and later received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tulsa University. After graduation Ken continued his career as a Drilling and Completions Engineer with various oil companies and later as a private consultant

During his career he worked not only throughout the United States but also was able to work in Indonesia, Malaysia, South China Sea, Ecuador and many other countries. Ken retired from the oil field in June 2014. Ken loved his family and he loved his friends. He loved talking and telling his many storeis and tales and could discuss any topic for hours on end. After retirement Ken built the home of his dreams near Lake Texoma so he could enjoy the quiet outdoors and be near his closest friend. His favorite hobbies included, collecting good investment grade guns and customizing his Springer Softail Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Omer Stubbs and his mother Loraine (Clampet) Stubbs. His survivors include his son Erick Stubbs of Denver, Colorado and his daughter Katherine Stubbs of Plano, Texas; his sister JoEllen (Stubbs) Valdez and husband Manel Valdez of Poquoson, Virigina; two nieces Michelle (Valdez) Buchanan and husband Steve Buchanan of Poquoson, Virgina and Marina (Valdez) Bise and husband Jason Bise of Front Royal, Virgina.

Visitation will be Monday, December 16 at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, Oklahoma from 10:00pm to 9:00pm with a family hour from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Watts Funeral Home, Kingston, Oklahoma. Eddie Nabors will officiate the service. Interment will e at the McAlister Cemetery. Casket Bearers: Erick Stubbs, Manuel Valdez, Dee Smith, Kevin Smith, Donnie Allen, Shawn Garrison.
