Jereta Ann Minyard, 83, of Dickson, Okla. passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home in Dickson. She was born on June 29, 1938, in Love County, Okla. to the late Hoyt Thurman Shilling and Edith Marie O’dell Shilling. She was raised and lived her entire life in Enville, Okla.
Jereta married James Monroe “Jim” Minyard on January 15, 1955, in Gainesville, Texas and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1998. She was a Christian and a member of the Enville Community Church.
Jereta was preceded in death by her parents; husband; baby girl Minyard; son-in-law, Rick Stepp; several nephews and nieces and a host of sisters and brother in-laws
She is survived by her children, Terry Minyard and wife Deleta of Marietta, Okla., Chub Minyard of Enville, Okla., Sammie Jo Seeley and husband Larry of Dickson, Okla., Deborah Stepp of Dickson, Okla., Nancy Minyard and Kent Porterfield of Burneyville , Okla., and Janet Taylor of Bristow, Okla., 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Jo Minyard of Enville, Okla., Sue Horblit and husband Harry of Wheatland, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Linda Carver and husband John of Dalton, Ga.
Visitation was held Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.., Tuesday, and June 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta, Okla. Larry Seeley officiated the service. Music by family. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
Casket Bearers were Cody Minyard, Randy McMillian, Dylan Morgan, Caleb Rains, Willie Ed Douglas, and Steven Ted Willis.
