Huey Alvin Stewart Jr. 51 passed away on February 28, 2024. He was born on August 7, 1972, to Huey Alvin Stewart and Sherri Burris Stewart in Lawton, Okla.

Alvin was raised in the Powell area of Kingston. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1990. Alvin had two children that he loved dearly and was extremely proud of them. Kaden Zane Stewart, 20 years old, attends ECU in Ada and Taylin Leann Stewart, 16 years old, attends Kingston High School. Both Kaden and Taylin are outstanding musicians and members of their school’s band programs.

He was a foreman at Peachtree Construction in Keller, Texas. Little Alvin loved hunting, fishing, riding side by sides and 4-wheelers, going to the lake, looking for arrowheads and being with family and friends. You rarely saw Alvin without his buddy Briar, they loved each other so much. He had a huge voice and large stature but even bigger than that was his heart of gold. He loved kids and babies and if there were any around, he was holding or playing with them, even if it was baby dolls and princesses.

Alvin always made those closest to him feel safe. He was willing to help anyone when they asked or even if they didn’t. He was always ready with a quick comeback or sarcastic remark, something funny to say or do to make you laugh. If he picked on or aggravated you, consider yourself lucky because the more he did that to you the more he liked you. He was one of a kind and inside that big, rough exterior and loud voice was one of the best and biggest hearts. He loved and was loved by many.

Alvin Jr. was preceded in death by his mother Sherri Stewart; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Waynette Burris (Stout), David Stout and paternal grandparents Doyle and Florine (Pody) Stewart.

Alvin is survived by his father, Huey Alvin Stewart; sister, Tasha McCuan; brothers, Heath Stewart and Rick Thorne; nieces and nephews, Alivia and husband Josh Gonzalez, Stewart and husband Trey Haggerty, Xavier McCuan, Ethel Stewart, Kiefer Stewart, Michael, Will and Emerson Thorne; aunts, Rita and Mark Roberts, Lori and Michael Forguson, Yolanda and Doug Tyner, Leah and Mickey Rose and Arvetta Taylor; as well as numerous cousins.
