Hazel Marie Beechem was born on Jan. 2, 1932, in Chickasha, Okla. She was the first child born to Quency and Ethellene Roney and oldest sister to Faye Randolph. Hazel attended Dunbar School in Shawnee, Okla., and also attended school in California where she lived with her father after her mother passed when Hazel was only 12.

In 1947, Hazel united in marriage with Exteen Moye, Sr. in Enid, Okla. Eight children were born to their union. Shortly after the birth of their fourth child, they packed up and headed west to Denver, Colo. Exteen preceded her in death in 1962. After years of raising her children as a widow, love would find her once again in the form of Marion “Bill” Beechem whom she married in 1969. He preceded her in death in 1979.

Hazel continued to raise her children, the neighborhood children, and was a second mother to all of her grandchildren. She was about as sweet as they come but firm when she needed to be. She was always a devoted member of the church and a volunteer within the community, as she had such a giving, thoughtful, and admirable spirit. Being in her presence meant you never went hungry, you knew her commitment to God, family, and the power of prayer. Not to mention the amazing holidays in her home, full of food, festivities and laughter!

Hazel was a hard worker who loved working with her hands and she always provided for her family. She retired from Denver Plastics and followed her heart and moved back to her hometown of Madill, Okla. Once there, she continued her exceptional life devoted to her church, friends, and family.

Hazel was preceded in death by three of her children: Susan Moye, Lee Moye, and Derrell Moye; and her only sibling Faye Randolph.

On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Hazel was called to eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her homegoing, five children: Exteen Moye,II, Carolyn Brown, Corvette Moye (Deb), Quency Moye (Linda), Patricia Williams, 19 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, countless other relatives, and devoted friends. One day we will all meet again.
