Evangelina Diaz, 66, of Madill, Okla. passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at her home in Madill with her family by her side. She was born on July 1, 1957, in El Pajarito, Rayon S. L. P., Mexico to the late Pablo Puente Gonzalez and Petra Arredondo Gaspar Puente.

Evangelina was raised in Mexico and later lived in Dill City, Clinton, and Duncan, Okla.beforemovingtoMadillin1985. She married Juventino Medina Diaz on November 16, 1977, in Rayon San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Evangelina was affiliated with the Catholic faith, and she enjoyed traveling, shopping, working puzzles and loved her chickens. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren.

Evangelina was preceded in death by her parents; husband and son, Mario Diaz.

She is survived by her children, Tino Diaz and wife Brittany of Madill, Okla., Renee Diaz and wife Cherry of Madill, Okla., Esteban Diaz and wife Karina of Madill, Okla., Juana Diaz Huerta and husband Felipe of Madill, Okla., Guadalupe Barrientos and husband Manuel of Madill, Okla., Jessica Diaz Cook and husband Richard of Madill, Okla.; grandchildren, Marisela Calixto, Juan Calixto, Anabella Diaz, Lexi Diaz, Jaxon Diaz, Andy Diaz, Xavier Diaz, Vivianne Diaz, Harmony Diaz, Miranda Barrientos, Itzel Barrientos, Manuel Jr. Barrientos, Alexander Barrientos,MelanieGonzález,EvanCook,MarioDiaz,and Evalyn Diaz; siblings, Pablo Puente, Pedro Puente and wife Tomasa, Jaime Puente and wife Mina, Ermelinda Puente and husband Damas and Dora Roque.

Visitation was held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m.withaRosaryat7:00p.m.andSunday,December 10, 2023, at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral service was 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Madill, Okla. It was officiated by Father Raul Sanchez. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Service were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Casket Bearers were Luis Gonzalez, Mario Gonzalez, Jaime Roque, Pablo Calixto and Jaime Puente.
