Dolores “Elaine” Young, 66, passed away January 2, 2022 in Oklahoma City. She was born July 4, 1955, in Ardmore, Okla. to Richard and Syble “Marie” Gentis of Madill, Okla. She was a graduate of Madill High School and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla.
She married Lynn Jay Young on September 6, 1975. They made their home in Duncan, Okla. and later in Houston, Texas. Elaine was most proud of being a wife and mother. She loved spending time at the beach with her good friends later in life and playing cards with her Bridge group when she made her home in Long Beach, MS.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Lynn on December 14, 2010. She was mother to John David Young and his wife Emily of Fort Smith, AR., and Bryan James Young and his wife Laci of Oklahoma City, Okla.; GiGi to her three grandchildren: Ellie Louise, Mason Everett, and Cooper Lynn, all of Fort Smith, AR. She is also survived by her brother, Ronald Gentis of Madill, Okla., and her sweet kitty and faithful companion, Sophie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Jones United Methodist Church with graveside service at 3:00 p.m. at Woodbury Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla.
