Delilah Joyce Cook
Delilah Joyce Cook, 92, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Okla. She was born February 12, 1930, in Alpine, Texas, to the late Elmer and Marie Cook. Delilah was raised in Hobbs, NM, where she graduated high school in 1948. She laterattendedtheUniversityofOklahoma where she graduated with honors in 1952.
Delilah enjoyed a long career in her chosen field of accounting living and working in Houston, New Orleans before settlinginFortWorth,Texas. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling extensively across North America, Europe, Egypt and Israel. Delilah also enjoyed collecting and reading books from around the world. She was a long-time member of South Side Church of Christ in Fort Worth where she was active in many ministries.
Delilah was preceded in death by her parents; brother Don Cook; nephews Joe Don Cook and Will Cook.
Delilah is survived by her nieces Sue Rushing and husband Randy, Karen Cook; nephew Charlie Cook and wife Molly and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10 a.m., at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Okla. Chris Webb will officiate the service. Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
