Bobby Gene Burris 72, of Lebanon, Okla. passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at his home in Lebanon. He was born on January 19, 1950, in Madill, Okla. to the late Colonel Aaron Burris and Winnie Wallace Burris. Bobby lived in Alamogordo, NM before moving back to Madill where he attended middle school. He later moved to Kingston where he graduated high school in 1969.
Bobby joined the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He was an Armor Recon Specialist receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 DVC, two Overseas Bars, Combat Infantry Badge, and Marksman CM 16 Ri. e. Bobby married Belva Jane Harris on December 19, 1972, in Lebanon, and she preceded him in death on December 6, 1992. He worked for the Corp of engineers for 10 years before going to work for Ok Steel and Wire where he worked for 16 years. Bobby also worked for Walmart for eight years and was currently working with Byron Self. He was proud of his Chickasaw heritage, and he enjoyed coon hunting, fi shing, reading western books and watching westerns, rodeos, and car shows.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, fi rst wife, one son, Chad Page.
He is survived by his daughter, Christy Massingill and husband Earl of Lebanon, Okla.; stepdaughter, Tammy Page of Lebanon, Okla.; bonus daughters, Beverly Neesmith of Madill, Okla., Rebecca Mcqueary and husband Doug of Homosassa, Fla.; grandchildren, Chris Page and wife Jennifer, Lindsey Page, Takota Massingill, Aury Massingill, Kameron Massingill and fi ancé Schelbye Blankenship, Roxana Massingill, Brittany Reeder, Josh Neesmith, Zach Neesmith, Travis McQueary, Heather McQueary and David McQueary; great grandchildren, Rankin Page, Gracie Massingill, Zayne Reeder, Gavin Reeder, Leah McQueary, Bentley McQueary; brothers, Wayne McDonald and wife Nancy of Grand Prairie, Texas, Carl Burris and wife Rachael of Madill, Okla., Scott Burris and wife Renee of Mannsville, Okla.; sister, and Glenda Huffman of Kingston, Okla.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
