Bertha Marie Weldon, 93 of Madill, Okla. passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Burford Manor Nursing Center in Davis, Okla. She was born on February 5, 1928 in Oxford, Kan. to the late Ernest Elmer Ashely and Mattie Frances Cline Ashley.
Marie graduated High School at Yale, Okla. in 1948 and later attended the Oklahoma Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1951, now the Oklahoma Baptist University College of Nursing. She began her nursing career in June 1951 at the Southwest Baptist Hospital in Mangum, Okla., and that’s where she met the love of her life, Gerald Ray Floyd. They dated for one and a half years and married January 1, 1955 at Gerald’s parents’ home in Willow, Okla. They had two sons and adopted one daughter. Marie worked as an RN for over 40 years and was
Marie worked as an RN for over 40 years and was director of nursing in several hospitals before retiring from the Madill hospital. While working there she met and married Charlie Wilborn (Jack) Weldon, On March 7, 1986 in Cooke County, Texas. She and Jack enjoyed many years of traveling while living in Oakland, Okla. Marie enjoyed making ceramics, traveling, and helping others. She loved decorating her home for any holiday, especially Christmas. Marie was of the Baptist Faith being a member of the Oakview Baptist Church in Oakland, Oklah.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Phil and Sonja Floyd of Springer, Okla., daughter in law Carolyn Floyd of McLoud, Okla. her grandchildren; Krystal and Justin George of Yukon, Okla., Dustin Floyd of Madill, Okla., Talon Floyd of McLoud, Okla., Adrian Dameron of Ohio, Destinee Dameron of Ohio, two ggreat granddaughters, one brother and sister-in-law; Ernest Albert and Betty Ashley of Larned, Kan., sister-in-law Sue Ashley, Madill, Okla., along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Gerald Floyd October 31, 1964, and Jack Weldon August 4, 2005, one son: Stephen Lynn Floyd, one daughter: Sheryl Dianne Magoch, four brothers: Orville Lee (Buddy) Ashley, Leonard Ashley, Homer Ashley, and Willard Ashley.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
