Williams
Ava Elaine Williams, 81, passed from her earthly body and opened her eyes in the presence of her Savior, Sunday June 23, 2024, in Kingston Okla. She was born June 10, 1943, in Madill Okla. to John Welch and Winnie Pearl McClure. She raised in Madill, Okla. and graduated from Madill High School in 1961. She was lovingly known to many of us as Mom, Tootsie Mamaw, Grandma or Tootsie.
On September 7, 1963, she married Ted Craig Williams, or as she called him, “Her Teddy Boy” in Madill. The two of them shared just over 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2015. Because of Ted’s job in road construction, they moved several times before returning back to Madill where they would spend the majority of the rest of their lives together until moving to Ada, Okla. in 2014. Other than a couple of short stints of working outside of the home, Elaine did what she cherished the most and that was raising her six children; Peggy, Craig, Janet, Mary, Mark and Barry. Raising her children to honor God and not only teaching them to live for Christ but also showing them what that looked like was the most important thing to her.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Madill for the majority of her life, and later joining Trinity Baptist church in Ada, and then First Baptist Church in Hereford where she was loved by her Sunday school Class.
Music played a large role in her life. She always had a song in her heart, singing and humming throughout the day as well as passing the love for music on to all six of her kids. She loved to play the piano and organ both at home and at church, and she was a member of the Singing Churchwomen of Oklahoma until 1996. She also enjoyed sewing, watching gameshows and Texas Rangers Baseball, and most importantly, talking about her family and all of the things God was doing in their lives. Late in life when she couldn’t leave her home very much, she would watch each of her son’s and grandson’s church services. Her love for her family and her Lord were evident in her life and that has been passed on to her family as a faithful legacy.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Winnie McClure; sisters, Johnny Ruth Jacks and Winona Reed; husband, Ted Craig Williams.
Elaine is survived by her children, Peggy Lamascus and husband Richard of Hereford, Texas, Craig Williams and wife Julie of Ada, Okla., Janet Culberson and husband Steve of Whitesboro, Texas, Mary Proctor and husband Mike of Madill, Okla., Mark Williams and wife Jamie of Kingston, Okla; Barry Williams and wife Jennifer of Ada, Okla.; 10 grandsons, Justin Williams and wife Dallas, Tyler Lamascus and wife Jannelle, Ryan Williams and wife Brenna, Cody Williams and wife Amanda, Eric Lamascus and wife LeAndra, Caleb Williams and wife Marli, Jared Williams and wife Macy, Marshall Proctor and wife Kinley, Dawson Padgett, Connor Padgett; four granddaughters, Sarah Lamascus, Kayla Baker and husband Matt, Haley Hollenbeck and husband Blake, Halle Alexander and husband Grady; seven great grandsons, James Culberson, Landry Williams, Logan Williams, Theo Baker, Barrett Alexander, Hudson Hollenbeck and Ian Williams; ten great granddaughters, Melany Baker, Cobee Williams, Cavyn Williams, Preslee Lamascus, Olivia Lamascus, Myla Williams, Lily Williams, Sutton Williams, Isabela Lamascus and Ava Alexander; sister, Mary Sue Ard of Richardson, Texas.
