More than 40 athlete students were invited to attend the annual All-Star Preps Best of the Arbuckles Sports Banquet on May 23, 2023. The banquet is presented by the Ardmoreite, and will be held at the Ardmore Convention Center.
This event, which is dubbedaone-of-a-kindevent, focuses on recognizing local high school students for their exceptional achievements. Theeventawardsover $30,000 in scholarships and prizes. One senior will win the coveted prize of a new car, courtesy of the Patriot Auto Group.
The keynote speaker will be Sherri Coale. She was the head coach of the University of Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team. She held that title for 25 years, from 1996 to 2021.
She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. While coaching for the Sooners, her teams won multiple Big 12 championships, qualified for 19 consecutive NCAA tournaments and made their way into three Final Fours.
