The Madill High School FFA hosted the FFA Banquet on May 10, 2022. The banquet doubled as an award ceremony and dinner for FFA students, family, and friends.
The awards given out consisted of scholarships, public speaking, and academics. The event also announced the new FFA officers for the 2022-2023 school year.
Fred Stanley, who is a former FFA state officer and current State Legislator presented awards for public speaking. Krysha Green, D’Mari Austin, and Hayden Harper all won the Fred Stanley Winner Chairs award. Hayden Harper won the Fred Stanley Gold Cup for being the State Runner-Up Public Speaker of the 2021-2022 FFA school year.
A new president was elected along with other officer positions. Harper, Nick Northcutt, and Chayton Gamble, three members from the 2021-2022 school year, retired. The other four officers were brought back in different positions and three new officers were elected to join the team – Brody Case, Bridger Lott, and Emily Arnold.
The 2022-2023 FFA officers are Case as Parliamentarian, Lott as Sentinel, Emily Arnold as reporter, Tarah Weise as treasurer, Peyton Arnold as secretary, Austin as Vice President, and Green as President.
Green, a returning officer from last year, said she felt honored to become President for next year. Green is also committed to making improvements to the chapter by spreading awareness and encouraging involvement in her community.
“I want every member in FFA to feel comfortable and I want to bring in new events that will interest these members,” said Green.
