The Buncombe Creek Ladies Auxiliary had their quilt drawing on Tuesday, June 15 and the winner is Scott Nickels. Congratulations. The ladies made $377.00 on the quilt raffle which was donated to our local volunteer fire dept., as was the remaining balance of the Ladies Auxiliary’s funds in the amount of $545.00. The lack of interest and participation being the main cause for the group’s demise.
The Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department had a successful turnout for their 12th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament held last weekend. Taking first place was John Stout, Clay Akins, Tyler Akins and Chuck Chaney. The second place team consisted of Steve Feilder, Kelch Ballard, Lee Tucker and Sheldon Sult and third place went to Bill Akins, Jerry Yandell, Curtis Clark and Chip Knost.
Winners of the special categories include “Most Accurate Drive” by Tyler Akins, “Closest to the Pin”, Terry Yandell with the “Longest Drive” going to Jacob Brook.
Congratulations to all those who participated in making this annual fundraiser a success. A special thank you goes to the Anchor’N Restaurant for their support by providing lunch for over 60 participants and volunteers.
