Ronny Oliver 78, of Madill, Okla. passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home in Madill. He was born on December 19, 1942 in Madill to the late Tommy Oliver and Quincy Benson Oliver.
Ronny was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1961. He was class President and played on the varsity football team all throughout high school. He continued his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Education in 1966 and his Masters of Education in 1970. Ronny had a diverse teaching career, ranging from kindergarten to middle school football coaching, as well as gymnastics and skeet/trap shooting at the college level. The majority of his teaching career was at Kingston and Springer Schools. His gift was teaching math facts to every student. Ronny retired after 25 years in 2006.
He was a true chef, having attended pastry school and cooking school in the military. Ronny married Paula Sterling on March 23, 1971 in Madill. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and gardening. onny was a member of the Madill Church of Christ for his entire life.
He is survived by his wife Paula Oliver of Madill, Okla., children; Chase Oliver and wife Mary Jane of Waller, Texas, Chelsea Church and husband Phil of Tuttle, Okla., grandchildren; Chandler Church, Cooper Church, Amie Jane Oliver and Sydney Oliver, and his brothers; Michael Oliver and wife Kelly of Madill, Okla.
Ronny was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son; Clint Oliver, and one brother; Asa Tommy Oliver.
