The Kingston Boy’s Track Team experienced many fi rsts this year, but especially at the 2021 OSSAA Track & Field Championships on May 7 and May 8, 2021. Before the state championships, they were the Lake City Conference Champions and the Regional Champs. Then, they placed as Runner Up at the State Championships. Other fi rsts at the State meet were Matthew Hawkins placing fi rst in the 800 meter, and Matthew Hawkins, Jessi Rose, Damon Rowe and Jarron Morgan snagging the fi rst place in 4x400 Relay. This was also Coach Chris McGowan’s fi rst full year back as track coach and he said he could not be more proud of his team. “As a coach I can't be more proud of a group of men that that endured my workouts and never quit trying to reach their goal,” McGowan said. “They have set their goal high for next year.
