The Madill varsity boys cross country team ran to theteamchampionshipwhile the girls placed fourth in the Annual Madill Invitational Meet on Saturday morning.
Coach Cale Eidson’s Wildcats edged Durant by three points for the team crown as four runners medaled in the event.TheLadyWildcatshad one medalist.
Sophomore Jayden Barbosa clocked in at 17 minutes, 39.3 seconds over the 5,000-meter course to finish as the individual runner-up. DylanSerranoaddedan11th finish of 18:50.7, Blane Hawthorne took 13th in 19:02.2 and Alex Gonzalez was 15th at 19:07.5 to round out the medalists.
Finishing just behind the medalists were Yadel Sanchez in 23rd at 20:01.7, Xavier Quintanilla claiming 28th with a 20:31.3, Gael Gallegos ended 29th in 20:33.2, Lorenzo Vasquez finished 35th at 20:57.7, Saul Martinez clocked in 40th in 21:39, Akzel Fernandez posted a 45th with a 21:47.8 and Pablo Montes wrapped up 49th notching a 22:01.5.
Other Wildcat finishers were Dayton Gimenez, 53rd (22:07.6); Braysen Carnes, 63rd(23:22.8);NeymarCamacho, 67th (23:37.1); Azaeel Rivera, 71st (23:59.8); Canyon Phillips, 75th (24:23.7); Vincent Acquaviva, 78th (24:53.1); Joshua Gomez, 91st (26:11.4); Axel Recio, 92nd (26:13.2); Jacob Devin, 97th (26:47.1); Jesus Camacho, 99th (27:06.1); Marco Espinosa, 103rd (27:36.1); Teo Barrientos, 106th (28:55.6); and Yael Corona, 108th (28:59).
Leading the way for the Madill girls varsity was Dayanara Martinez-Valenciano with a medalist time of 13 minutes,46.3secondsinplacing 14th individually over the 3,200-meter course.
Isabell Stuckey contributed a 22nd in 14:28.4, Jayleen Vasquez took 25th at 14:38.8, Rita Camacho checked in 28th with a time of 14:49, Katelyn Acquaviva added a 32nd in 15:14.3, Caylee Martinez posted a 35th at 15:25.2, Zamira Mata was 40th clocking in at 15:34.2 and Klarivel Aldava ended 45th notching a 15:56.7.
Other Lady Wildcat placers were Chloe McWilliams, 50th (16:06.2); Bryssa Reyes, 60th (17:00.9); Jeylah Cabrales, 61st (17:04.7); Hadon Stuckey, 63rd (17:39.1); and Samantha Ortiz, 67th (17:59.3).
On the junior high side, Madill captured girls team honors, outdistancing second place Durant as they had both the individual champ and runner up.
Catalina Valadez won the junior high race that covered 2,400 meters in 9 minutes, 34.7 seconds with teammate Ellie Cabrales just behind in second with a mark of 9 minutes, 40 seconds. Other Top 10 placers for the Lady Wildcats were Audrey Martens, taking fifth at 10:17.5, as well as Sammy Brown, seventh in 10:21.6.

The Wildcat junior high boys wrapped up third in the team standings behind only Latta and Lone Grove with John Leija the lone medalist in 13th place with a mark of 13 minutes, 36.3 seconds.
Gunner Willis contributed a 19th place showing of 13:50.4, Rhody Combs was 26thin14:16.6,AidynGonzalez clocked in 28th at 14:18.2, Diego Perez took 32nd with a time of 14:30.3, Julian Fernandez placed 34th in 14:34.7,LeonelPadronended 36th at 14:49.6, Zaid Rivera posted a 37th with a time of 14:57.4 and Rolando Nunez checked in 42nd at 15:12.9.
