In the past few days, there were two small fires at two separate locations in Marshall County. On July 25, it was reported that there was a 'small explosion' at MidAmericanSteelandWire in Madill. Madill Fire Chief Mike Idleman said the call came in at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The 'explosion' orginated in the melt shop. However, the cause is still under investigation. Three people wereinjured,butareexpected to make a full recovery.
On July 27, a house fire north of the Willis Bridge on 377 caused significant traffic delays. Idleman said flames sparked in an abandoned house, causing it to catch fire.
The house is considered a total loss. No one was injured, but several firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. Even though the fire is out, A house fire led to traffic delays on July 27.
