Therearemanybandsand musicians who have graced the stage at Rockloahoma, the annual rock fest in Pryor, Okla. Some of those are tribute bands that pay tribute to a specific musical act.
Ozzolution is a tribute band that is scheduled to play Thursday night at Rocklahoma 2026. The band has six members and consists of Walter Web, the “Ozzy” of the group, Eddie Bishop on guitar, Tom Green on drums, 9 on bass, Marty Pelton on keyboardsandMellisaFoxas the band’s “Lita Ford.”
Web said that they aren’t just an Ozzy Osbourne tribute band and their name defines their story telling about the iconic rocker.
“Ozzolution is the evolution of Ozzy Osbourne,” Web said. “It’s the story of his career, so we start with his early years and more or less follow the timeline of his life.”
Web said that Ozzolution began in 2015, though the current lineup has been together for almost a year.
This is the band’s first time to play at Rocklahoma andWebsaidtheyareexcited to join.
“It’s the biggest event we’ve ever been a part of,” he said.
Websaidthateventhough they have only been a band for a short time compared to other bands, he has a musthave item that he takes on the road with him.
“For me, cough drops,” Web said. “It’s good for the voice.”
Web may channel the King of Rock, but his influences are eclectic. He said that he “loves Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.” He also cited The Beatles, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest as influences. He also said he loves R&B music.
Touching on his love for Iron Maiden, Web said one of his favorite bands he has toured with is the Iron Maidens, an all-female Iron Maiden tribute band.
Web gave advice to any up-and-coming bands to help them on the road.
“Be nice to people,” Web said. “Be grateful for every opportunity. Give your audience what they want.”
Rocklahoma is scheduled to run September 4 to September 6 in Pryor, Okla. Ozzolution is scheduled to play September 4 at the Thursday night pre show.
