Bouncing back from a pair of tough district losses, the Madill Wildcats returned to the win column last Friday by edging Tishomingo, 5-4, in baseball action. The Wildcats came out on the short end of 9-1 and 8-2 decisions against Cache before rallying in extra innings to take the triumph over the Indians. Runs were hard to come by facing Cache as Madill posted only one tally on a single hit from Jayse Thompson in the opener before adding four hits in the nightcap. Tyner Roberts had two of the singles while Jagger Rogers chipped in a hit and RBI while Layne Doher also finished with a hit. The Tishomingo battle was scorelessthroughtwostanzas before the Wildcats broke the ice on a Rogers two-out RBI single. Madill added a pair in the fourth inning as well by stringing together singles from Daquan Williams, Rankin Page and Doher ahead of a run-scoring double by Derwin Sanchez. Cooper McHatton also chipped in a RBI single. Tishomingo answered with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie things up and force extra innings despite a quality pitching from Page for the Wildcats as he tossed the first five and two-third stanzas, yielding three runs on four hits with four strikeouts. Madill’s bats came alive once more in the eighth frame as Rogers singled to right on the first pitch and came all the way around to score on an Abram Osornio double. Williams also tossed in an RBI double to center that proved vital as the eventual winning run. The Indians put together a rally to post one run and had the bases loaded in the bottom of the inning when McHatton slammed the door with a strikeout in earning the mound victory. He contributed two and onethird frames with the one run on two hits combined with a pair of strikeouts. Rogers, Williams and Doher smacked a pair of hits apiece while Sanchez, McHatton, Roberts, Osornio and Page all finished with one.
