2026 Property Tax Relief

The Marshall County Assessor posted on Facebook about the annual Property Tax Relief. The filing date runsfromJanuary1toMarch 15, 2026.

There is no age requirement to receive the benefit. Anyone who owns and occupies theirpropertyasofJanuary 1 can receive Homestead Exemption.

For anybody who has a total gross household income that is less than $30,000, they can be eligible for Additional Homestead Exemption.

For anybody 65 or older as of January 1, 2026, they could receive Senior Valuation Limitation (Senior Freeze). The maximum qualification for this benefit is $64,500.

This benefit will freeze the assessed value of the owner's property, not the tax amount. Any improvements made to the property or changes in millage rates will cause the property owner's tax amount to fluctuate year to year.

For anybody over 65 who owns a manufactured home on leased land and their total gross household income is less than $32,250, they could receive Double Homestead Exempton.

For any disabled individuals, or individuals over 62 withatotalhouseholdincome less than $12,000, they could receive a partial refund of the property tax paid on the home.
