Madill High School’s girls and boys cross country teams each claimed team titles at the Central Marlow Invitational last week. The Lady Wildcats edged Marlow for the girls’ team title by four points led by individual champ Yadira Barbosa,whoclockedthetwomile course in 11 minutes, 38.29 seconds.
Caylee Martinez posted a 14th place effort in 13:03.18, Jeylah Cabrales took 25th with a time of 13:49.57, Jayleen Vasquez was just behind in 27th at 13:54.56 and Katelyn Acquaviva rounded out the top five Madill efforts with a 29th place mark of 13:57.71.
Samantha Ortiz also checked in 35th in a time of 14:31.84, Haden Stuckey was 45th at 15:18.87, Isabell Stuckey took 55th while posting a 15:45.63, Klarivel Aldava ended 66th in 16:59.28 with Aranza Salinas just behind in 67th with a time of 17:04.71.
Madill’s boys dominated to its team title by outdistancing second place Marlow by a whopping 59 points. An incredible six Top 10 individual placers led to that performance.
Leading the charge was Jose Campos as he rolled to a third-place mark of 19 minutes, 11.92 seconds in the 5K event for the boys.
Alex Orta finished fourth in 20:01.78, Ryder Douglas ended fifth at 20:07.58, Jayden Barbosa was sixth with a time of 20:20.64, Blane Hawthorne snagged ninth at 20:56.56 and Aroddy Camacho crossed the line in 10th just behind in 20:59.27.
Yadel Sanchez had a solid effort in 17th by posting a 21:46.73, Saul Martinez took 25th in 22:29.53, Canyon Phillips was 26th at 22:30.20, Gael Gallegos clocked in 43rd in 24:04.61, Vincent Acquaviva took 47th at 24:12.79 and Ronny Rivera crossed the finish line in 24:47.13 for 56th.
Dayton Gimenez added a 60th with a 24:53.82 mark, Azaeel Rivera clocked in at 25:52.25 for 67th place, Enrique Martinez was 76th in 27:28.43, Xavier Quintanilla was 88th at 28:37.59, Isaac Quiroz posted a 31:58.40 for 97th.
