The Marshall County Fair is right around the corner. The MC Fair is the event of the season with something for everyone. The event will be held September 4 through September 6 at the Marshall County Expo Center.
On September 4, entry time is from 7:30 a.m. till noon. All inside exhibits must be entered, including specialty events such as Decorated Wreath, Themed Cookie Jar and Hat contests. Exhibits may be dropped off early on September 3 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Judging will take place from 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. andthebuildingwillbeclosed to the public. At 4:00 p.m., the building will open to the public.
From 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., entries for all livestock, rabbits and poultry will be accepted. The Softball Throw will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the Dog Show will begin at 5:30 p.m. The Little Mr. and Mrs. Marshall County will be at 6:30 p.m.
The building will open at 8:00 a.m. on September 5 to view the exhibits. The poultry and rabbits will also be judged at 8:00 a.m.
The event will have school visits from 8:30 a.m. till noon. The FCS Skill-a-thon will be from 3:30 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. The building will close at 6:00 p.m.
Saturday is chock full of events.Thebuildingwillopen at 8:00 a.m. The Livestock Show with Showmanship contest is at 9:00 a.m.
The Ugly Pickup entries must be done by 9:00 a.m. and the judging will be from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. From 10::00 a.m. till 10:30 a.m., the Pie and Cupcake contest entry time will be open. The judging for that will begin at 10:30 a.m.
TheHomemadeIceCream contest entry time is from 11:00 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. with the judging to begin at 11:30 a.m.
The Pet Parade, featuring household pets and farm animals, will begin at noon. The Chicken Penning (Kingston vs. Madill teacher contest) is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Farm Hand Olympic entries (ages 16 and up) will be at 2:00 p.m. and the judging will be from 2:30 till 4:00 p.m. The Corn Hole tournament entry time will open at 3:30 p.m. and the tournament will be from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m.
At 6:00 p.m., the Winners Circle Award Presentations will begin and the building will close at 8:00 p.m. The exhibits will be released on September 8 from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m.
