Robledo 3rd in state pole vault pacing Madill track

Senior Christian Robledo skied to a third place mark of 13 feet, 6 inches and junior Tristan Barnes added a seventh place leap of 12 feet even in the pole vault to spur the Madill performances in the Class 4A State Track and Field Meet held at Plainview.

A pair of Wildcat relay units finished just shy of point placings as the 3,200 foursome of Ryder Douglas, Gael Gallegos, Jose Campos andJamesValadezclockedin ninth with a time of 8:28.64 while the 1,600 grouping of Aroddy Camacho, Douglas, JaxonDiazandJoseMenchaca ended 12th at 3:32.89.

Valadez also checked in 11th in the 3,200-meter run at 10:20.06 with Douglas notching a 13th place showing in the 800 meters with a time of 2:02.63.

Junior Yadira Barbosa once again led the Lady Wildcats as she placed sixth in the 3,200 meters in 11:52.48 and also ran a personal best 5:27.72 for 11th in the 1,600 meters.

Madill’s 800 relay squad of Tillie Chapa, Joshlynn Clayburn, Zeplyn Thomas andHadonStuckeywas13th at 1:49.23 and the 1,600 pairing of Stuckey, Kali Henry, Thomas and Chapa posted a time of 4:25.35 for 16th.
