Madill FFA makes history

Madill FFA won the State Championship in both the Jr. and Sr. level Parliamentary Procedure competitions this weekend on the campus of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. This is a feat that has not been accomplished by any FFA chapter in Southern Oklahoma in the long history of the contest.

State Parli Pro consists of 10 teams that have advanced through the five FFA areas across the state. The junior contest, officially called the Conduct of Chapter Meeting contest is for students in grades 8th through 10th. While the senior Parliamentary Procedure contest is designed for members in the 11th and 12th grades.

Both contests require an extensive knowledge of parliamentary law and working knowledge of conducting orderly meetings. Students must also have the ability to speak in public and be quick witted, all while speaking in a professional manner.
